A civic project that mobilizes community stakeholders to work together to promote public safety by conducting lighting assessments and distributing energy efficient lights bulbs in dark areas.
The Porch Light Project was created by Former Saint Louis City Police Officer Christian Johnson, as a way to get police officers and community members to build relationships by completing a simple community project together that promoted neighborhood safety.
Over the years the Porch Light Projects has been conducted in 20 neighborhoods all over Missouri with over 7,000 energy efficient light bulbs distributed and over 1,000 volunteers mobilized.
